If not Social Media … what?
The other day, I talked to some fellow Social Media Managers, and we discussed if businesses today could run effectively without Social Media. The answer, of course, is YES! Obviously, you have to be a pretty secure Social Media Manager to admit that 😇 it's like saying to a carpenter that cabinets shouldn't be made of wood. But I digress.
The point of the conversation was that Small Business needs to focus on creating a community for their business in the ways that work best for them.
Instead of worrying about gaining 10k followers, focus on your business's presence for your target customers. This might turn your world upside down and be an unpopular opinion, but the truth is social media isn't the only place to increase awareness of your business.
Ways you can do expand your presence in addition to social media:
➖ Website: Keep your messaging and call to action buttons clear
➖ Email Newsletter: Connect with your customers as often as you feel comfortable for some, it's weekly, and for others, it's monthly.
➖ Collaborate with others: Who's your business bestie? Got fellow small business owners in your posse - create an event together, specials online, or support each other's achievements or specials.
➖ Events: Why not host a small cocktail party or online sale as a party or event. Create something fun to acknowledge your customers.
➖ Networking: Remember IRL (in real life), yeah. Go out and talk to people.
